I started wondering a couple years back why my dishes, flatware and glasses were suddenly coming out of the dishwasher all stained and filmy. Thought it was the rinse aid dispenser or the water temp... something! After adjusting all these with no difference in performance, I read that the problem is the new "detergents" that do not contain phosphates. I found a link to this page and have never looked back. Cascades w/Phosphates does everything that the commercials on TV for other detergents CLAIM their products will do - but don't. It is the only dishwasher detergent I will ever use from now on. The useless products I've been buying in stores are jokes (even fraudulent!) compared to this detergent. The ONLY drawback with this Cascade product is that it is unscented and sometimes certain glass items come out of the washer with a slight weird smell on them but that was happening with the other non-phosphate detergents as well. It's easily rectified with a quick rinse under hot water.

If recently your glasses and flatwear were not getting clean like they were months ago, it is because of the change in the State laws and the change in the chemical formula. I too, tried everything under the sun, more cleaner, less cleaner, hotter water, mixture and combinations of home mixtures, even bought a new diswasher three months because of it. And all along it was not so much the hard water, BUT the removal of Phosphates from the dishwasher detergent. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF MONEY, TIME AND FRUSTRATION AND BUY THIS DETERGENT WITH PHOSPAHATE!!!! Just after one application, my dishes and flatwear are clean again, no more hard water marks or that ugly hard to remove milky film on glasses.
You will thank me and Restockit for selling it. Finally, I am happy, and it is not my new high effeciency dishwasher that was causing the problem. I will sleep good tonight without have to waste time, etc., thinking or redoing my dishes. The end!

I had been noticing for months that my 3 year old dishwasher just wasn't getting the job done. I called in a repairman, paid a hundred bucks and still no clean dishes. Recently, I read an article stating that the manufacturers were taking phosphates out of dishwashing soaps due to laws in 17 states. Nice of the repairman to tell me...I was even thinking about a new dishwasher because dirty dishes just are not an option.
So, after a bit of online research, I learned that commercial product is still available. I bought the cascade from this site and, lo an behold, my dishes are shiny and clean again! Unfortunately, my glasses have some etching from the months of no phosphate, but at least they are clean!!
Thanks, restockit! It felt like Christmas when I opened up my dishwasher and had clean dishes again.

I thought there was either something wrong with my dishwasher or my water as everything coming out of the d/w looked awful. Stains remained in coffee/tea mugs, stainless steel items were stained and a powdery substance was building up in the crevices of my silverware. I then went to the appliance store where I purchased my d/w with samples of my "cleaned" items and they told me immediately that it was new government regs that all phosphates were to be eliminated from the detergent. I got on the internet and found restockit and purchased my first case of this product (it won't be the last) and now many of my co-workers have done the same. Our glasses, dishes, silverware.....everything including the inside of the d/w itself is once again sparkling clean.

Finally! I have my favorite dishwashing powder back and I take CLEAN dishes out of the dishwasher again!. Scrubbing and rinsing dishes before putting in the dishwasher pretty much defeats the purpose of owning it in the first place. Another stupid government intrusion into my life I don't need. First it was adding 10% ethanol to my gas so I get 10% less milage and thus burn the same amount of gasoline PLUS a gallon of ethanol to go the same distance as before for more money, and then banning good dishwashing detergent so I can use more water rinsing and cleaning before I load. Now it's load and run put away. No spots, no white powder, of scummy feel[...]this is my place for Cascade as long as they sell it.

This product is an absolute necessity. I struggled for years, after they took the phosphates out of the soaps, to try and get plasticware, silverware, dishes and glasses clean . Great for the environmnet not so great when trying to have a dinner party with dirty dishes. My compromise is every third washing I use the detergent. If you have dirty ANYTHING do not throw it out until you ahve tried this. A large Rubbermaid pitcher that I used for iced tea was brown and nothing could get out the tea stain out. ONE washing and I had the pitcher back to brand new. I can't say enough. [...] There is enough to last for a year. I even gave a box to a friend who loves it. Happy, happy, happy!!

Cascade Professional Line Dishwasher Detergent might be the only dishwasher detergent left that contains phosphates. I tried two brands of dish. det. that didn't contain phosphates. What a disaster! Cascade Professional w/phosphates dish. det. cleans the dishes & doesn't leave a white film. Thankfully, it even removed the film that was deposited from using the detergents w/o phosphates.
Please dishwasher detergent manufacturers, if you want to remove phosphates, be sure your product cleans dishes properly before you sell it to the public! Also, let your customers know about changes the next time so they don't think they need to buy a dishwasher.

i too was having trouble with dishes not getting clean in my dishwasher. i had heard that phosphates had been removed from dishwasher detg. Didn't give it a lot of thought until my dishes told me to take notice.They had to be completely cleaned before going in the dishwasher. But then the cloudy film on the glasses and silverware started to appear. Got on line and found this product and it works so well that i am telling all i know where to get this. i noticed a big change after only one wash. i am trying to figure out how to use 6 big boxes, will probably share with my kids. thanks for making a great product available again.

When phosphates were banned from home-use dishwasher detergents, my dishwasher AND my dishes began to get really icky really quickly! Once I found out that non-commercial products were the only ones required to abide by this phosphate ban, I was determined to get my hands on some "commercial grade" Cascade, and ReStockIt was a terrific find! I have never been so happy to use the dishwasher as I am now! :-) If the EPA really wants to keep the phosphates out of the water, they are going to HAVE to ban it from heavy-use restaurants and huge institutions to ever make a difference! For now, just give me my phosphates!:-)

My glasses were getting grittier and grittier, my dishwasher was getting grimier and grimier. I couldn't figure out what was the problem. I was seriously considering installing a water softener. Then I read that the phosphate had been removed from dish washing detergent (I can spread in my garden by the ton however). I started using the industrial cascade and gave my dishwasher a citric acid clean and it has been running great ever since. No residue in the washer and the glasses have returned almost to their original condition.
If you're not a Gaia worshiping misanthrope then this is the stuff you want.

I have been so frustrated with the dishwashing detergents available in the stores. Cascade was always #1, however, after they removed the phosphate it cleaned as poorly as the other detergents. I was having to add Lemishine to every wash cycle just to keep the calcium from building up in the dishwasher. My first load using this "real" Cascade proved that phosphates are an essential ingredient for clean dishes and dishwasher -- the dishes were sparkling and the stainless steel interior of the dishwasher was stainless!!!! I was hesitant to review this since I wanted to keep it a secret, but if you found this review, the secret is out. I was using Cascade Complete from [...] with no phosphates. My stainless steel interior and most of my dishes slowly were covered with a horrible white film. The dishes were getting worse by the day. After a few weeks of using this detergent with phosphates, things are getting clean again and the white film is almost gone. Until there is a no-phosphates detergent that actually works, this stuff is the answer.

I thought our dishwasher was ready for the scrap yard because my glasses were getting a white film and there would still be food particles on everything after I washed. However, an almost missed link on the web told me about the removal of phosphates from non-commercial dish detergents in my home state (PA). After one wash with this stuff it was apparent that everything had been covered with that white powdery stuff. After about the 3rd or 4th wash it was all gone. Even my 15 yo said, "Wow! This glass is clean!"

I normally never write reviews, but had to with this. I ordered it after reading about this online. I got it super fast. I saw a difference the first time I used it. I rewashed ALL my silverware and glasses and they look great. Some items I had to scrub a little bit to get the build up off and run through a second time, but it seems that the cascade had loosened the build up so I didn't have to scrub as hard. I may order another case just to have on hand so I won't run out. I love it.

I thought my dishwasher was breaking down because there was so much lime deposit clogging the sprayer outlets, and the dishes were just not getting clean. It turns out that the problem was entirely due to the removal of phosphates from dishwasher detergents sold for use in the home. This product is intended for commercial use and is therefore still available, but the instructions on the box tell you how much powder to use for a regular, under-the-counter dishwasher.

Ever since the phosphorus was removed from dishwasher detergent our dishes just didn't get clean. Everything had a white film on it, especially plastics. We even tried some of the homemade "ecologically friendly" formulas with poor results. Now with this product we have seen a return to sparking, squeaky clean in the first dishwasher load. Coffee and tea stains are gone from cups, silverware sparkles and stainless steel pots no longer look hazy. Hooray!

I had all but given up on having sparkling dishes again. I just accepted that the powers that be had removed phosphates and that was that.......until I decided to Google it!! As usual, it gave me what I needed. Dishes, pots and pans and glassware have been renewed. The hazy awful film has disappeared from all glassware. Plasticware is amazingly cleaner and grease-free. I really appreciate this discovery.

I thought I was doomed to have dirty dishes until I found that I could buy this. SO happy! It was so frustrating using the phosphate-free detergents, as we have very hard water, and the dishes just were not getting clean. How environmentally-friendly could phosphate-free detergents possibly be, when I would just end up having to re-wash my dishes every single time?!? My dishes are clean once again after using Cascade with phosphates. My scummy dishes were driving me crazy. It makes me furious that consumers are being duped into believing that the new formulas of dishwasher powders without phosphates are supposed to be of any value.
Big business and big brother should be ashamed of themselves. And don't quote me environmental issues. Washing your dishes 3 times is not good for the environment either.

Unfortunately, you can not find dishwashing detergent with phosphates in retail markets. If you are suddenly unhappy with the results you are getting with your automatic dishwasher, it is probably the lack of phosphates in detergent, not the machine. This product is marketed for commerical use and still contains phosphates which means cleans dishes. I have had to resort to ordering this product on line[...]Will definately buy again.

All my dishes were cloudy, the handles to my cooking utinsels and pans had turned a grayish white color. The inside of my dishwasher look like it had a disease. I thought my dishwasher was broken. Environmentalists lied about the impact phosphates from dish detergents have and stripped them from our products. It is less than 2%. Fertilizer and manure are the problem. This move will cause more wasted water due to rewashing to get dishes clean. Thank you ReStockIt for helping us waste less water by carrying the original formula for me to purchase. Excellent dishwasher soap for home dishwasher. If you current soap is not getting your dishes clean and leaving them dull, dirty and with a white film, you need this soap. It contains phosphates which have been removed from all new soap. I fill the dishwasher cup about 1/2 full and it works amazing. My wife is VERY happy that our dishwasher works again. Sparkling dishes = happy wife! :-)

After July 1st 2010 they eliminated phosphates from dish washing detergent. Where I live (in VA) we have very hard water. I have a top of the line dishwasher and it was doing a terrible job, thought it was the washer but then after doing research realized it was the detergent. Switched back to this real Cascade and dishes are clean again, no white chalky film on everything any more

I care about the little fishes in the streams but the amount of phosphates in dish washing detergent is a drop in the bucket compared to what industrial sites are dumping.....please don;t take this off your shelves!! Have used Cascade liquid for several years. Our dishwasher became corroded due to high calcium in our water, and for some reason, the liquid gave us clouded glasses and streaked dishes-not well cleaned. We discovered this powder cascade and it is amazing. Within a couple days everything was smooth and clean again. Wow, wish we had found this a year ago.!!!

We have relatively hard water. Since phosphates were removed by Cascade our plastic glasses have a white film on them that we had to remove manually every time they were washed in the dishwasher. Your commercial formula worked exactly as claimed. I thought my new dishwasher was malfunctioning, it was only the poor soap. We're happy again, thank you!

Can't get dishwasher detergent with phosphates where I live - what a difference it makes when they're not included! With Cascade with phosphates my tea and coffee cups are clean again, my chili bowls sparkle, everything is squeaky clean! Ever since the stores have only been able to carry phosphate free products, my dishes have looked horrible! I was very happy to find out the I could get commercial grade Cascade WITH phosphates still. I am back to having sparkling clean dishes and clear glasses. Finally, I don't have to pre-scrub my dishes anymore. This detergent has removed everything I've thrown at it. And I've tried to test the limits. It's removed: peanut butter, dried oatmeal, microwaved mac-n-cheese, egg yolks and more that I can't remember. I highly recommend this product.

Thought we had to replace our high efficiency dishwasher as it was not working properly using the phosphate free detergents. These machines use less water but need the phosphates to get the job done properly. The commercial cascade detergent with phosphates fixed the problem entirely!!!!

If you have hard water and an energy efficient dishwasher, nothing seems to clean well. This does. It still has the old formula that helps soften the water to give you clean dishes again. This saved us from having to buy a water softener.

Noticeably cleaner and shinier after a few wash loads. Don't expect miraculousness results after the first load. Dishes that were too far gone will not come back but border line ones will.
